Summer Reading is required for all students, including entering 9th graders. Students must read one book (we hope you’ll like it so much you’ll read more) over the summer. You choose the book. If can be fiction or nonfiction. It must be age appropriate and certainly something you haven’t read before. Please, no children’s books. The important thing is to pick up something you like. When you return to school in September, your English teacher will do a summer reading activity and have you post a review of the book you have chosen online. Please note that for some Advanced Placement classes, there is a separate summer reading requirement. Students need to contact their A.P. teacher to determine whether they need to read a book for A.P. or whether they can complete the school-wide summer reading requirement instead.
